This itinerary will take you to three (and a bonus!) of the best soup season stops in Marquette. 231 West, Peace Pie Company and Portside Inn will absolutely not disappoint your taste buds! I would recommend stretching the stops across a full day as they can be very filling. Take a book break at Snowbound Books and enjoy the cozy corner in the back between soup trail stops.

Peace Pie Company

Peace Pie Company offers a relaxed atmosphere with the cutest aesthetic. From a collection of rolling pins on the wall, to choosing your own mug, it was such a fun experience. The curry lentil and pumpkin soup was phenomenal and is a can’t miss. It was hearty and full of flavor! The portion size was perfect.

Pro Tip!

Get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and choose a mug from their display to enjoy it in!

Portside Inn

This local stop provided the quintessential Marquette experience. Themed with maritime decor, the Portside Inn was as cozy and inviting as the entire town. I enjoyed a bowl of Clam Chowder soup, and I could not have enjoyed it more! It was loaded with clams and seasoned to perfection. The soup paired perfectly with their signature breadsticks, which are a must order.

Pro Tip!

The restaurant is a local favorite and gets busy quick! So, go early or be prepared to wait. Pay with cash and enjoy a discount.

231 West Patisserie

The vibes at 231 West were immaculate. From the friendly staff to the beautifully crafted pastries, the entire restaurant was stunning. I enjoyed a cup of the Butternut Bisque. I enjoyed it so much that I honestly scraped the bowl to get every last drop! I would book another trip to Marquette just for this soup alone. Highly recommend not skipping out on 231 West when in Marquette.

Pro Tip!

Get a bowl NOT a cup, I promise you will want more!

Third Coast Pizzeria

This is a bonus stop on the soup trail! I was not expecting to be able to enjoy a bowl of soup when I visited Third Coast! They have a daily pizza buffet from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and the soup was part of the buffet. Third Coast Pizzeria specializes in Detroit-style pizza, which is a rectangular pizza with a thick, crispy crust. Their cheesy breadsticks made the perfect soup utensil. Don't just trust me on that, be sure to go try it yourself.

Pro Tip!

Grab a window booth and enjoy the beautiful views of Downtown Marquette!
